茶碗 - Green Tea Bowl is the essence of Raku. Dating back to late 1500's Raku ware was established to maximize the experience of consuming green tea through tea ceremony by the most powerful men of Japan of the time. "Tong marking" on the bowl indicates this one was handled manually in our kiln piece by piece. Black Raku, is the most sought after chawan in tea ceremony since it reflect Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy the most.
